Two Tone Nail Colours

A new trend being seen alot right now with celebrities is having nine of your nails painted one colour, usually something bright and eyecatching, and painting one a different colour, something metalic or gold looks great. Instead of using regular polish, try Sally Hansen's new Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips, I heard they're great. They are premade lightweight nailpolish strips that you just peel off and stick right onto your nail, saving you the mess!

The Kitten Heel

...What can I say about the kitten heel? Most aren't sure whether to love it, or hate it. Although Lanvin does make a nice pair of shoes, I couldn't help feeling like a grandmother wearing these. Sure they're easier on your feet, and probably a heck of alot easier walking to your 4th floor class in, but is it really worth looking like a middle school child? If you're going to wear a heel 1.5 inches or smaller, why even bother!

Blast from the Paaast!

Something I would LOVE to see come back in style would be a variation of the Maxi dress. This is probably one of my favorite looks from the 70's, it's sexy and feminine, and looks great with a pair of heels. The shape of the dress is flattering to most body types, and it seems so comfy and flowy!

HIT of the Week 01/23 - 29

Catherine Zeta - Jones looked stunning in her floor length strapless Monique Lhuillier gown at the 2011 Golden Globes. This beautiful emerald colour contrasts beautifully against her fair complexion and dark hair, and going sans straps showed just enough skin to keep it sexy and elegant. I would love to see more of this colour in our post winter fashions!

MISS of the Week 01/23 - 29

Known for her eccentric tastes in fashion, Helena Bonham Carter did not fall short of our expectations for the 2011 Golden Globes. Although she is the first to admit that she sometimes gets it wrong, this is a clear example of just how wrong you can be. Wearing a Vivienne Westwood dress, and two mismatched shoes Helena strutted her stuff down the red carpet completely happy with her fashion choice, seemingly unaware of what her bedhead hair do did for her appearance. Hopefully we don't have to see this again!

Spring Colours 2011

Pantone has just released their colour forecasts for the upcoming season, Spring 2011. Among these hues a few stood out; honeysuckle, beeswax, coral rose, and regatta - a variation of a royal blue. These shades are just what you need after a long winter spent hibernating, they are upbeat and very feminine, and look great when used in clothing, accessories and cosmetics.
